A deposit begins in the operator's cashier, which issues a reference; the transfer is then sent from a wallet or bank in the account holder's own name and matched against that reference. Identity checks are expected before the first deposit, and a small test amount of 500 PHP to 1,000 PHP is the cheapest way to confirm the chain works end to end.

The three mistakes that strand a payment

First: paying without a live reference. Cashier references expire, commonly within 15 to 30 minutes, and a payment made against a dead reference has to be traced by hand from a receipt. Second: sending from someone else's wallet or account. It may credit without complaint, but the name mismatch surfaces at the first withdrawal, when the money is already inside and the appeal is much harder.

Third: choosing the wrong bank rail. An instruction sent through PESONet when InstaPay was expected does not fail — it simply waits for the next batch, and on a Friday evening that means Monday. None of these are exotic; between them they account for the large majority of support tickets about missing deposits.

What to keep and for how long

Keep the reference number, the transaction identifier from the wallet or bank, and the timestamp. Together those three items resolve almost any trace request without further evidence. A screenshot of the confirmation screen is worth more than a photograph of a receipt, because it carries the identifiers in text.

Keep them until the balance is visible in the account and one withdrawal has completed successfully. After that they are only clutter, and a receipt showing an account number is not something to leave lying in a phone gallery.

A first deposit in 6 steps

  1. Finish the identity check — government ID plus live selfie — before touching the cashier.
  2. Open the cashier, choose the rail and enter an amount you are willing to treat as a test, such as 500 PHP.
  3. Enter a promotional code at this point if one applies, before confirming anything.
  4. Generate the reference and send the transfer from an instrument in your own name.
  5. Wait for the balance to update; do not resend on the assumption that the first attempt failed.
  6. Save the reference and the transaction identifier until a withdrawal has completed once.

Never resend a transfer before the first one is traced — duplicate payments are slow to unwind.

Frequently asked questions

How small can a first deposit be?
Cashier floors in this market usually start around 100 PHP, but 500 PHP to 1,000 PHP is a more useful test because it is enough to also test a withdrawal afterwards.
The money left the wallet but the balance has not moved — what now?
Do not resend. Take the reference number, the transaction identifier and the timestamp to support; those three items are what a trace needs.
Can someone else fund the account?
No. The name on the paying instrument has to match the account holder, and a mismatch discovered later blocks withdrawals until it is resolved.
